The storied Peck Tavern House stands at the head of Old Lyme, Connecticut’s Historic District and is on the National Register of Historic Places. While the building had been well taken care of over its 340 years, it was time to refresh the house for the next generation. A light touch was used on the most historic portions of the post and beam structure while the circa 1900 addition afforded more flexibility for the desired upgrades. This included significant structural, electrical and plumbing upgrades, a new kitchen and all new bathrooms along with installing a state-of-the-art forced air geothermal heating and cooling system. A light filled family room off of the kitchen was added to complete the upgrades to today’s living style. Significant landscaping brought the neglected surrounding property back to life.
